To celebrate the Spanish heritage of this new addition to LUXEHOME, two special cavas, Freixenet Elyssia Pinot Noir Brut and Gloria Ferrer Royal Cuvée 2002, will be paired with signature cuisine from Michael Fiorello of Spanish hot-spot, Mercat a la Planxa.
Gloria Ferrer Royal Cuvée
Gloria Ferrer Royal Cuvée is a prestige bottling that showcases the superb quality of the grapes grown on our 335-acre estate vineyard in Carneros. The structure and mouthfeel of this wine have evolved over successive vintages as these impressive vineyard blocks have matured. Made only from the first pressing of hand-picked grapes, this classic Brut blend of two-thirds Pinot Noir and one-third Chardonnay offers the delicacy and exuberance of perfectly ripe fruit well-integrated with complexities derived from over five years of aging on the yeast.
Elyssia Pinot Noir Brut
A new symmetry in cava from Freixenet. Coming from the Latin Elysium or Elysian fields which were a symbol of heaven in Roman times, Elyssia is a heavenly symmetry of old world winemaking tradition married to new world varietals of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Elyssia Pinot Noir Brut is a distinctive new sparkling Rosado with an intense aroma of raspberries and blackberries with a crisp, dry finish and a hint of sweetness. The Pinot Noir used for the Elyssia Pinot Noir Brut is grown on the Mas Bernich estate located near the town of Masquefa in the Alt Penedès region, southwest of Barcelona, Spain. The grapes benefit from the cooling fogs rolling off the Mediterranean and the long warm growing season. Freixenet produces only méthode champenoise sparkling wines. The wine goes through two fermentations with the second fermentation taking place in the bottle. Elyssia Gran Cuvee Brut is aged for nine months in a cave.
